Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- Male and female patients aged ≥ 20 years.
- Cases: Confirmed diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
- Controls: No confirmed diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
- Beneficiaries assigned to 8 participating Family Medicine Units (Michoacán).
- Active records between Jan 10, 2006, and Dec 31, 2017.
Exclusion Criteria
- Patients with no records in the SIMF system.
- Inconsistent records preventing longitudinal traceability.
Bioethics
The protocol was approved by the National Research Committee and the National Research Ethics Committee of the Health Research Coordination of the IMSS.
